Does anyone know of any of any cool modern or motoring related watches for under $250? I really like the style of this one, and though I desperately want the new Autodromo Prototipo, it is pretty overpriced.

Gray market/ swiss rolex. They are built from shut down rolex factories in Switzerland, so its basically the same watch/ materials.
My personal favorite is the Emerald Green Rolex Submariner.
idk if the Rolex LeMans watches were for sale or only handed out to drivers, but if they were im sure you could find a grey market version.

I personally really like Skagen watches
Very thin and minimalist, just how I like watches. The most I've ever seen Skagens go for is $250.

Orvis always has some really nice watches for very reasonable prices (plus lifetime guarantee!).

Hmmm... I don't suppose there are any grey market Tag Heuers, are there?

I always like Nixon watches. They have a pretty large price range, and I'm sure you can find one you like for under $250.

I've been looking for a motorsports as well. I love the way some Tag Heuers look, but I definitely will not be shelling out the cash for one.
Unrelated from motorsports, SWATCH's are cool. Not sure about reliability or build quality though.

Diesel has some cool watches in that price range that have an automotive/sporting look:

Orvis definitely has some good looking watches, I'll have to check them out

I'm sure you could find a grey market version of any high end watch, though it may not have the same quality as a swiss rolex that came out of an actual old rolex factory.

Skagen Titaniums can be had for around 250 and they are very nice.

It's hard finding a used Tag Heuer for under $1000 :( I'm not sure about Swatches either, I'll check them out though.

Autodromo is too much money for too little watch.

Yeah, I got a Veloce last year, and while I love the way it looks, it was pretty overpriced.

braun has some nice watches for around$180.
Hamilton also has some nice watches.

I love the Seiko Orange Monster.

that is a cool looking watch. never really been sure of diesel as a brand, but I guess they are car themed.
(also you shouldn't be grayed out any more when commenting on oppo)

Damn I forgot about Braun, so many choices!

Nixon is the way to go. I own two right now, buying a third at the end of December. Can't wait!

Can you give a link of where to buy one of these watches from?

I've only got one watch and it's a Skagen. People tell me they like it all the time.

I've had one of their watches before. I liked it it; died after a few years though. Diesel can be really out there in a vacuous sort of way. E.g.
Their helmets are cool though

So you're suggesting that there are MULTIPLE closed down Rolex factories?

I love those, but I can't find one for under $300

Agreed, just be careful with the face, mine shattered somehow. Otherwise they are fantastic watches. Victorinox Swiss watches are another to take a look at.

Way out of your price range ($700ish; potentially $500 w/ discounts), but I must reference Shinola . Detroit-made, beautiful, and rocked by car guys like Ralph Gilles.
They also did a Mustang 50th anniversary tie-in:

I have a bunch of Invictas. My wrists are freakishly huge, so I have to wear chunky watches. Lots of watch for the money, and you can always find deals on em.

This is the website I bought mine from

I would check out all the watches on the sight. Worth the look.

Also look at the Junkers, Meisters, and Zeppelins. I think you will like these as well. The cool part is that they actually have a bit of history to them, not like those boring Rolexes.

This one is pretty cool, it's motoring-related but doesn't cost a fortune.

I have a Jacques Lemans watch that was a gift a while back and got me into watches... Since then (and I understand how this might make me sound like a douche) I've only bought more expensive ones once I really figured out what I like in a watch, but my Jacques Lemans F5007 is the only one that hasn't needed a battery replacement and has always displayed the correct time (I guess this is because it uses a Japanese quartz movement vs Swiss or something).
It also looks really funky, IMO.
